TAMBOUR BEADING CLASS
These photos show three students Bisi worked with in 2019, each at a unique point in their creative journey. Seeing their confidence grow and their skills improve was incredibly rewarding, a great reminder of the impact of hands-on teaching. Since then, Bisi has continued to push her work in couture and design forward, but teaching has always been close to her heart. There’s something special about sharing knowledge, guiding others, and watching creativity come alive in new hands.
Bisi is thrilled to be back in the classroom, bringing her experience, patience, and love for teaching. Whether she’s guiding complete beginners or helping advanced students, she’s committed to creating a welcoming space where everyone can learn, grow in confidence, and enjoy the creative process.
Bisi will teach you tambour beading from the very beginning, showing you how to frame organza fabric onto the frame so you can clearly see what you’re working on.
Once you’re confident in framing and holding the tambour hook and holder, some students will pick it up right away, while it might take others a bit longer. Bisi would work with each student at their own pace.
When the students are confident and Bisi feels they’re ready to move on to the next stage, they begin working with a fabric where they can’t see what they’re doing, since they now have to work from the wrong side of the material.
Once the students have mastered the techniques, they will be asked to design the idea they’d like to work on, and Bisi will help each student bring their idea to life, just like the students working on their ideas in the pictures.
